Have a question about performing at Pasifika Vibes Festival? The answers below cover many of the most common questions we receive from entertainers.
Who can apply?
We welcome applications from solo artists, performing groups, dancers, musicians, choirs, cultural performers, comedians, schools, churches, youth groups and community organisations. Whether you’re an experienced performer or appearing on stage for the first time, we’d love to hear from you.
Is there a performance fee?
Pasifika Vibes Festival is a community celebration and most performances are voluntary. However, a limited number of featured acts may be engaged under separate arrangements at the Organisers’ discretion.
Can children perform?
Yes. We welcome performances by children and young people. Performers under 18 years of age must be supported by a parent, guardian or authorised group representative throughout the application process and on the day of the festival.
Can schools apply?
Absolutely. We encourage schools, colleges and educational groups to apply, particularly where performances celebrate Pacific Island and Māori cultures or support cultural learning and community participation.
Can I perform on both days?
You’re welcome to indicate your availability for Sunday, Monday or both days within your application. While we can’t guarantee performances on both days, we’ll do our best to accommodate preferences where possible.
What equipment is supplied?
Our professional production team provides a fully equipped festival stage, sound system and standard audio equipment. During the application process, you’ll be able to tell us about your technical requirements so we can assess how best to support your performance.
Can I use backing tracks?
Yes. Backing tracks are welcome and can be uploaded with your application or provided later if your application is successful. Full instructions and acceptable formats are outlined in the application form.
Do I need Public Liability Insurance?
Public Liability Insurance is preferred. If you don’t currently have insurance, alternative arrangements may be available depending on the nature of your performance. Further information is provided in the application form and Entertainer Terms & Conditions.
When will I know if I'm successful?
Applications are reviewed after the closing date. Successful applicants will be contacted as soon as the performance programme has been finalised. If we require any additional information, we’ll be in touch during the assessment process.
What happens if my application isn't successful?
As performance places are limited, we may not be able to accept every application. If you’re not successful this year, we encourage you to apply again for future festivals. Every application is carefully considered, and we sincerely appreciate your interest in sharing your culture with our community.
Do I need to perform Pacific music or dance?
Pasifika Vibes Festival celebrates the cultures of the Pacific. While most performances reflect Pacific Island and Māori cultures, we also welcome contemporary and culturally connected performances that align with the spirit, values and objectives of the festival.
